I'm so neglectful...

Here are a few pics of the studies I've been doing in class...
I'll try to be better about posting stuff... I've just been so busy that I forget to do any posts online!
(They are all studies from other paintings- except for the 2 pairs of eyes painted with just burnt umber.. those are from photos)
If I finish the pinup I'll replace her photo with a new one...
More later... ;)

New painting

My 3rd figure painting in oil...
Didn't finish this one, but I may do another with the same model (I took a picture of him before I left class). I put this painting away for a few days and when I took it out, I noticed the things I should have changed while painting it. It was a good learning experience!
That's why it's a study, right?
I didn't get a chance to work on the hands or the chair much...
I will post my second painting, from the photo I took, to compare... it will be interesting to see what I do differently... ;)
Critique: The model had more exaggerated features and he wasn't as well groomed as I portrayed him... I will see what I come up with in the 2nd version. ;)

King of the Jungle!

This is a graphite drawing I was working on in my Animal Portrait class.
Well, I was working on it so long I started to hate the sight of it... and put it away for a while.
I've decided to start on it again...
I will post a picture of the final project when I'm done.
It was at the point where I was afraid to mess it up too... but I think I'm over it. ;)

2nd Figure Painting

This is the second figure study (in oil) that I have painted.
(I'm not satisfied with my first one so I may not share it)
It is done in the Reilly Method and it turned out fairly well considering I'm just starting!
I've been having fun with my classes at Watts Atelier.
I always feel like I'm learning much faster when I am at that school. Can't wait for the next one!!! I'll keep you posted! :)

Here are a few life studies of cloth I did in class today...
The photos are kind of dark... but I didn't have great light.
More later!

PS- the models where my classmates... the hired model didn't show. :P

Oh Boy....

So... I'm not being very consistent yet in posting anything...
I just haven't had a chance to take new photos of my stuff!
Things keep getting in the way...
Here is a photo of a fabric study I did of one of J.C. Leyendecker's paintings
I'm still working on it but thought I would put something up for you guys to see...

Again... I need to spend a day taking photos... :)

(I'll need to re-shoot this... photo quality isn't great)
